Last Saturday, December 24, we went back to the refugee camp with Lina to throw a little party for the kids. It’s been a while since we got an acting job, so we were very excited about performing for the children.
Since there was no script, we had to improvise (dogme), which was a new experience to us. (Correction: Matias actually had a role in the Norwegian movie “Engelen” in 2009, where he had to improvise).
Jørgen turned out to be “Zariaa Khodra” (Big Plant), while Matias was performing a new character named “Ali Akhtar” (Ali Green). If the kids liked us half as much as we liked them, we would say that the party was a huge success!
Bless you both. That is very courageous and saintly what you are doing. To go into a refugee camp and dedicate your efforts and energy to bring some happiness into these children’s lives. You are what i’d call the “hope” of mankind. Good souls who come from the ends of the earth just to do good. I have watched up to episode four so far and hopefully there will be more to come. You teach me a lesson in humility. Despite all the unexpected difficulties you manage to keep a smile. To laugh positively at lebanese words you do not understand and accept it as coming from a human being who means well.
Thanks… sorry we didn’t reply to your comment yet, but, we sort of don’t have words… just thanks.
