A NEW SPONSOR!!!

It’s been some weeks since Walk of Causes finished, and still a few hundred people discover it every day! We hope it will stay like this for a long time, so that more and more people can discover the beauty of this country. So far we’ve found sponsors for four of the fourteen episodes, but this week A&C Bogstadveien contacted us because they wanted to sponsor Episode 11 – For the rights of Domestic workers. (Just give them a “Like” on the FaceBook page that we put on the top right corner, please!)

This very topic has been on peoples lips here in Beirut after LBC showed a sickening video of Alem Dechasa, an ethiopian migrant worker, being violently forced into a car two weeks ago. This Wednesday she committed suicide while undergoing psychiatric treatment. Today there are an estimated 200,000 migrant domestic workers in Lebanon. See the Ethiopian Suicide Blog for more information about the problems they are facing. And if you know any organizations working with these issues, please contact us so that we can give them half of our new sponsor money!

Here is the video of Alem Dechasa that has been circling around Lebanon lately.

Palestinian Super Camp

We gathered some of the young talents from Burj el Barajneh (one of the Palestinian refugee camps in Beirut) to collaborate on some art pieces with us. Their fantasy worlds seems to be drawn towards animals in the forest and aliens from outer space, which is surprisingly close to the images that is constantly being screened in our own mental theater.

BEIRUT TAXI

When we move around Beirut we move by Mercedes. This way we get many different drivers every day instead of only having one, like most famous people do. Our preference are the old automobiles from the 1960s, and we like to share our rides with other people going in the same direction. This way we get to save the environment a bit, at the same time as we get to meet many of our local fans in a humble and intimate setting inside of the spacious coupés.

PARTY

Going to parties is part of the job when you are being famous. This night we were partying with our good ol’friend and co-star Malikah – the queued of arabic Hip Hop. It’s nice to be able to hang out with some locals that reached a certain level of success as well.

Viking Casting

After several months with no jobs, we finally got invited to take part in a casting for a viking commercial. No problem for us, as our ancestors were vikings. It’s simply in our blood, but it’s been a while since we let out our primal screams…

A day in the refuge camp

Every Saturday we volunteer with Lina at the Burj El Barajnhe Camp, South of Beirut. This day we meet our old friend Em Nasif who has just been robbed. And we take a look at the incredible electrical system, before we play with the kids.

Fame in France

Since not all French people speak English, it’s a bit hard for us to penetrate their country in our quest of achieving global fame. In France we’re not so knows for being actors. Over there they know us as famous charity workers. Here is an article that our friend Pascal Riché wrote in his newspaper, RUE89 the other day.

Now we know that our superhero names “Ali Akhtar” and “Zariaa Khorda” means “Ali vert” and “Grande Plante” in French, which is pretty awesome!

For our english readers, check out this article in the Daily Star.
